MagneLoop is a Chrome extension that helps coordinate work between ChatGPT, Codex Cloud, and related development artifacts. Most MagneLoop state is stored locally in your browser. MagneLoop does not currently operate its own backend that stores the work content handled by the extension.

Information MagneLoop processes

To provide its user-facing features, MagneLoop may read, create, and locally store information associated with the ChatGPT and Codex Cloud surfaces you use. Depending on the feature, this can include:

• ChatGPT conversation identifiers, URLs, page titles, message identifiers, and message or writing-block text that you choose to hand off or that is needed to confirm a MagneLoop operation.
• Codex Task identifiers, statuses, turn identifiers, selected environment and branch information, execution/result metadata, and related operational evidence.
• MagneLoop Loop and Mission state, handoff/reply/review state, templates, settings, diagnostics, timestamps, and identifiers used for continuity, recovery, and duplicate-send prevention.
• GitHub repository, branch, pull request, commit/revision, and status metadata when GitHub features are used.
• A GitHub credential, if you choose to configure one for direct GitHub reads. The credential is stored in Chrome extension local storage and is used to authenticate requests to api.github.com.

How information is used

MagneLoop uses this information only to provide and improve its disclosed product features, including sending user-selected context to Codex, returning results to ChatGPT, maintaining Loop continuity, reviewing results against the relevant Mission, monitoring enabled Codex activity, interacting with GitHub pull request state, recovering interrupted operations, and measuring product reliability.

MagneLoop does not collect general browsing history or arbitrary page content from unrelated websites. Its website/content access is scoped to the services needed for MagneLoop features.

Local storage

Operational state is primarily stored in Chrome extension local storage on your device. Records may remain there as needed for continuity, recovery, history, and duplicate-send protection, and some records may be removed by MagneLoop's cleanup logic. You can remove locally stored MagneLoop data by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension.

Analytics

MagneLoop uses PostHog to measure product usage and reliability. The extension creates a random installation identifier and can send event names and limited structural metadata such as Loop identifiers, feature/environment state, counts, phases, and durations.

MagneLoop's analytics layer is designed not to send ChatGPT message content, prompts, code, diffs, Mission or acceptance text, or review/reply content to PostHog. As with ordinary network requests, PostHog may receive network metadata such as the request IP address and may derive approximate geographic information from it.

Third parties

MagneLoop communicates with the following services when necessary for its features:

• OpenAI / ChatGPT / Codex Cloud: to read relevant state and to send or confirm content and actions using your existing ChatGPT session.
• GitHub: to read relevant repository and pull request metadata when GitHub integration is configured.
• PostHog: to receive the limited product analytics described above.

MagneLoop does not sell user data and does not use or transfer user data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.

Security

Network communication performed by the extension uses HTTPS. MagneLoop restricts Chrome extension local storage access to trusted extension contexts and does not intentionally expose configured authentication credentials to page scripts.

Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

MagneLoop limits its use and transfer of user data to providing or improving the extension's disclosed user-facing purpose, security, reliability, and other uses permitted by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored extension data is retained as needed for MagneLoop's operational features and may be cleaned up as records become obsolete. Analytics data may be retained in PostHog as needed for product measurement and reliability analysis, subject to the project's configured retention and deletion settings.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as MagneLoop changes. Material changes to data collection or use will be reflected here and, where required, in the Chrome Web Store disclosures before the changed practice is used.
